What Is Conversational Search?

Conversational Search is the ability to talk with your memories. It's your AI-powered interface for having conversations with your captured workflow context—including code you've written, conversations you've had, and decisions you've made.

You can talk with all your memories, or customize which memories to include by filtering by specific apps and time ranges. Ask specific questions about your past work, and Conversational Search provides contextual answers based on your actual workflow history, powered by Long-Term Memory (LTM-2.7) with access to up to 9 months of captured memories.

Search Across Your Workflow

Ask questions across your entire workflow history or filter by specific apps and time ranges. Access it directly from the homepage.

  • Ask specific questions about your memories to find information quickly
  • Search across your workflow to discover patterns and connections
  • Filter by apps or dates using Sources and Time Ranges for focused answers

Chat from a Specific Event

Ask questions about one specific memory or Timeline Event with pre-loaded context. Perfect for drilling into details of a particular workflow moment.

  • Review decisions — understand why past choices were made
  • Review work sessions — dive deep into what happened during a particular period
  • Get details about a specific Timeline Event, including discussions, code, and decisions

Deep Study (Pieces Pro)

Deep Study uses your Long-Term Memory to produce sourced, timestamped research-style reports across apps, people, topics, and time ranges.

  • Deep contextual recall across collaborators, apps, and sessions
  • Recaps over days, weeks, or months
  • Targeted queries with people, topics, projects, and dates
  • Actionable insights with links to artifacts and suggested next steps

Ask naturally—for example: "Can you perform a deep study on what I've done for the last few days?"

At the bottom of the chat, click Activate DeepStudy (marked PRO). Your next prompt runs the Deep Study workflow. Deep Study requires Long-Term Memory to be enabled.

Write better prompts—use specific keywords, time ranges, source apps, and follow-up techniques. Use Sources and Time Ranges filters to narrow which memories you're searching through.
